What’s Ahead for ThinkFree in 2008?
What’s in store for ThinkFree in 2008? Upgraded products. Better than ever customer service. New partnerships and applications.
We want to take this opportunity to share our vision for ThinkFree – what’s ahead in 2008 – with you, our ThinkFree Community. So if you’re interested — read on.
ThinkFree Online will be easier than ever to use – and more secure:
- You sent us feedback. We listened. We’re getting ready to release improvements to the graphical user interface (GUI), plus other enhancements based on your feedback – to make ThinkFree Online easier and faster than ever.
- Also watch for our announcements for ThinkFree Online’s:
- New and stronger security architecture.
- Enhanced scalability, and API structure.
- Seamless integration with ThinkFree Docs’ documents and templates.
We’ll be launching an upgrade of ThinkFree.com:
- We’ll be launching an upgraded version of ThinkFree.com as early as the second quarter of 2008. Look for a deeper integration of our online and offline collaboration platforms.
- We’ll also be launching a new service with cool and helpful features for both personal and corporate users.
- Finally, look for a new “incubator site that will let you check out our latest technological developments and brainstorms — behind the scenes.
The evolving ThinkFree business:
- As always, we’re focused on creating an ubiquitous documentation platform: everything we do is geared to help you synchronize your online, offline and mobile documents, so that you’re productive and efficient.
- We’re organizing our products and services to support several business models, to make sure that ThinkFree is here to stay.
- And while some companies “talk about globalization, we’re the real deal. We have contracts and partnerships around the world, and we’re going to create more of them in 2008.
- Finally, we’re re-organizing our headquarters in both Korea and the United States to support our 2008 roll-outs.
Have a happy New Year and stay tuned!
Thanks,
ThinkFree Team

The idea seem very good and organised. However, the focus should be more towards making the whole idea go mobile. An SMS feature. Rediff has it, another online office suite Edeskonline.com has similar sms fearure.. I feel getting such features would be more handy and useful from the user point of view..

Hey, are you guys going to put in .pub (or Microsoft Publisher files) on the overall package, apart from Spreadsheet, presentations and word documents? That would be really great as I am working on a journal and am co-editor of it, so then both of us could collaboratively edit quickly and easily to save time. Thanks for everything else, the system is effective for the other formats.

First let me tell you that I love your product and I’m a strong believer in the concept.
My hopes for the future include:
1. On-line off-line synching actually working.
2. Customer suppor which actually responds to requests and does not end with an automatically generated response.
3. Database module which would be powerful and easy to use. I hope someone on your development team is looking for inspiration at filemaker.com. If what they have working in the oldfashioned standalone client environment could be brought to the realm of on-line apps, it could be a next killer app.
I’m looking forward to what the new year may bring to the thinkfree community.
Thanks frank klatil

I uploaded a financial spreadsheet. I noticed right away that there were some errors. It seems that your version, does not consistently follow the logic of “IF” statements. I tried everything I knew of, but could not get the “IF” statement to handle the various conditions consistently.
In my spreadsheet, whenever there is a deposit, I need to have a negative number stored in a certain place (I do this so that when the sum of the column of numbers is calculated, the balance goes up. I cannot get the software to recognize the word, “Deposit”, so that a negative number gets stored. Anyone, please help.
